What In The World Are B.N.B.B.s?
BNBBs refers to Basic Nutritional Building Blocks...an acronym I created.
The same way our home has lumber and cement and nails and other materials used to create a healthy, comfortable atmosphere which protects us from the elements, so does our body require building blocks to build healthy cells, replicate themselves, prevent de-generative dis-ease(s).
In order to attain our weight loss, lean mass gain, strength goals and improvements in endurance, most people (don't know of any exceptions) require amounts higher than what we get from the diet we're used to and usually more than what much of the food supply provides.
I rarely say "never" or "always" but I just have never seen anyone (in 20+ years) who could get above average results from an average diet...the recommendations for protein, carbs, good fats, fiber, vitamins and minerals are simply too conservative to attain the goals most people have...I think the fact that about 80% of the population being overweight even if they are active is a huge hint of this.
When we don't have enough BNBBs, not only do we lack appetite for healthy food, we crave SADCRAP (Standard American Diet of Continuously & Repetitively Advertised Products). I call it this because people tell me they think they feel sad, that they think they feel and look like crap.
We can only get the BNBBs from whole food, functional-foods and dietary supplements.
I have found over the last couple decades that even the people who eat really clean and healthy, find they feel better and reach their goals with less effort when they take SOME supplements in addition to their foundation of whole foods....whole foods have to be the foundation of any solid nutrition program, but by the time people aren't feeling so well or they are gaining weight, the time of "prevention" (relying on whole food only) has passed. This describes most people.
Over the years I have kept track of the reasons I can come up with to supplement and the list exceeds 50 reasons now.
