Brain & Mind Function

When it comes to reaching fat-loss goals, the longer the person has neglected their personal nutritional hygiene, the more difficult the process can be...not always, but often.

Here's what I mean: when you have enough nutrition density (BNBBs), in your body that your brain gets enough for itself, the front part of the brain is able to recognize love, compassion, and good information that will help you reach your goals.

When your brain has enough nutrition in it, you'll experience emotions, but the emotions will neither filter relevant information out, nor will the emotions run you and your rational decision making process.

The front of the brain requires a high level of constant nutrition that food alone doesn't provide enough of once the body composition is up over 20%.

For example, the brain uses 25% of the body calories, yet doesn't store them in itself...same goes for vitamins, minerals, and fats.

On the other hand, when you don't have enough nutrition density (BNBBs), on board, the front portion of the brain sort of takes a back seat and the emotional area of the brain takes over (hence, emotional eating).

Some sort of intervention has to happen in order to break the addictive cycle of eating what essentially comes down to comfort food (SADCRAP). At no other time in history has junk food been so addictive, as having too many processed sugars, too much salt, too much bad fats (which block the absorption of BNBBs), and hundreds of chemicals which give the brain a "high", while simultaneously withholding and blocking key, critical, essential nutrients (BNBBs).

In other words, the emotional area of the brain gets stimulated by junk foods while the nutrients that build and maintain health are absent...hence, addiction...hence, people who know they are living an unhealthy lifestyle but can't stop...hence, a seeming resentment and tantrum effect  toward people making healthy suggestions, even if the patient has requested it and is paying for it. (Yes, lack of BNBBs is exhibited in people who resent others who suggest things that would actually make them feel better more often!).

If you've ever been around children whose blood sugar is low and they start crying and screaming you'll recognize what I'm talking about...adults addicted to SADCRAP do the same behaviors.

At some point, the obese individual has to make the decision to change, even though there is the inherent emotional payoff (at the brain chemistry level) for consuming SADCRAP.

SOLUTION: the safest, most consistent and reliable way I know to stop and reverse the process is to supplement with high quality, nutritive dietary supplements. The BNBBs don't have any of the side effects brain altering drugs do. A lack of nutrition density mimicks depression and anxiety.

I wish it were different, I've just never seen anyone make it beyond a month without some kind of supplements to their diet.

Once the body composition gets beyond 20%, not only is the junk food altering the brain chemistry to depend on emotional payoffs, the body fat itself produces chemicals to soothe the mood.

In turn, the higher the body fat, the more insulin resistant the body and brain becomes, essentially storing fat, but not using it for energy creating a multi-level addiction to SADCRAP.

Generally, the more moody, emotional, defiant, stubborn, argumentative a person behaves, the greater indication of how dependent their physiology is to eating poorly and becoming malnourished.

YES, the more malnourished a person the more they insist that nutrition offers nothing for them, e.g. "I want to lose weight !...tell me HOW!!!...no not that".

"My kids are sick all the time!"

Often, the malnourished brain insists a healthy regime is strict and "extreme" when in reality filling up on deadly SADCRAP is what, in reality, is extreme.

When the front of the brain is malnourished, any behavior besides a quick fix of sugar, fat, and additives is perceived as a threat to the species. (That's the way SADCRAP is engineered to work).

Yes, SADCRAP enables the brain to override what you know is right for your health.

The brain that has enough BNBBs makes the hands grab whole foods, whereas the one that is under nourished grabs unhealthy food for a quick, emotional fix. It's that simple.

One thing that seems to override the emotionally resistant fat-loss candidate is seeing a candid, unplanned picture of themselves.

In other words, about 30% of people who see a picture of themselves take immediate action to change their lifestyle. It's common for obese people (both men and women), to do their nails, do their hair and makeup but never look at the rest of themselves in the mirror (avoidance / denial).

Once they see a whole-body picture of themselves it can be such a conflict with what they thought they actually look like that they have a "wake up call" to action. Once they see a picture of themselves, all denial and doubt is instantly erased.

The common denominator is that people who supplement enough to get their brain nutrient levels up, report "cravings" disappearing (seemingly magically), cravings for healthy whole foods increase, a sense of well being over comes them (emotional stability) and they wonder how they could ever gotten so far off track (introspection improves).

At the same time, if they stop getting enough nutrition density (everyone's requirement level is different), all the old unhealthy habits come back as insidiously as they arrived...it's predictable and measurable.

The million dollar question is, "Doesn't food provide enough nutrition?" The short answer is, "No!".

The longer answer is, "Once the body composition is more than 20%, the body and brain chemistry is too resistant to insulin to get enough from food alone", although most dieticians don't realize this, agree with it or teach it.

For the complete low down on what I mean by nutrition density, BNBBs and how to get safe versions of them, request the special report from me. The handouts from my "Fitness Nutrition Handouts" classes are available by request. .

Do it now, do it consistently!

Ciao!
