...or maybe you went through some stress and gained weight, then gained more and then gained more.
You just saw your reflection in a window on the street or saw a candid picture that blew your mind!
Inside, you imagined yourself as small...or not THAT big.
But reality has set in.
Maybe your doctor told you that your blood sugar, blood pressure and other numbers are dangerously high.
This process is common nowadays. There's many reasons why... your reasons are your reasons, but the reasons you have found yourself at these crossroads have themes that are common to everyone in your situation.
Since 80% of the population is carrying an unhealthy amount of body fat now, your situation is common...average.
There is hope, regardless how much hasn't worked for you before this.
I am saying that no matter how many times you thought you are doing the right things before, you can reach your ideal 20% body composition starting today.
Believe it or not, if you haven't reached your goals before, there are real scientific / cause-effect reasons why. You may not know the reasons yet or what you have to do to become healthy and lean once and for all.
If you look at where you are, where your body composition numbers are today, we could take any person and place them under the same stress you have been under to get where you are and they too would get where you are.
Yes, there are some individual characteristics that would emerge...one person might gain more belly fat...one may gain more back fat, etc,... but the overall body composition (%)average would be the same.
We know beating up on your self only exacerbates the problem. We know the person who doesn't have enough nutrition on board will have cravings. We know the person who starves themselves followed by binging will gain fat faster.
Maybe you haven't seen yourself in the mirror. Having a body composition of more than 20% requires you to disassociate (live a psychological & emotional distance from yourself) because it doesn't feel good...it REALLY doesn't feel good!
But maybe the excessive eating and lack of exercise was to cope with not "feeling right" to begin with.
A few days ago I saw a lady on TV who started out at 380 pounds. She kept telling herself "...it isn't too bad yet". She said the last 100 pounds had come on in the last 3 months...then she saw a picture of herself.
She calculated she was consuming 2,500 calories per day just in sugary and coffee drinks. (That's 3/4 of a pound in weight gain per day).
So she stopped that.
Many people withhold overall calories to lose "weight", but once they reach their goal weight they can't lose the last 25 pounds..,(the malnourished body won't let go the last body fat).
Then, since the body is so depleted the cravings become raging impulses to binge...and the process continues.
