Special Report #4
Part of the
“I see you
to succeeding"
series
Fiber...who
cares?
The quickie answer: Right
now, eat 25 grams of
fiber per day. A couple of the end
results are that you will have more energy and feel more alert in general…not
to mention burn more fat and build more muscle.
The complete answer: Start
by increasing the amount you eat by 5 grams of fiber (per day) each week. If
you increase the amount you eat too quickly, you will feel bloated and too
sluggish, so pace yourself by increasing by no more than 5 grams each day…each
week increase the amount by another five grams. Work up to 50 grams each day
over the course of a year. If you start to feel too full, cut back to the
previous week amount for one week and then resume.
Fiber by definition is
simply the part of plants which is un-digestible.
Here’s some of the benefits of counting and eating fiber:
- Slows digestion of food and drink (balances blood chemistry: [key to burning fat & building muscle]).
- Stabilize blood sugar (so cravings get decreased) [one key to separating emotional eating and actual low blood sugar eating].
- Preventing swings in blood sugar (prevents ups and downs because any food eaten gets absorbed into the bloodstream over a three or four hour period rather than minutes from low-fiber food and beverage).Thereby makes the metabolism burn at a steady pace (making body fat get used as energy).
- Absorbs toxins and carries them out of the body via bowel movements.
- Cleans the digestive system from the inside out, thereby detoxifying the body in a gentle, consistent manner preventing the side-effects of faster detoxification strategies. A low-fiber diet allows toxins to build up in the large intestine, allowing some toxins to be re-absorbed into the blood stream, at the very least complicating the fat loss process. ..it makes sense, yes, that a cleaner body is more likely to burn fat as energy and keep the fat off as the chemistry of the body is running more smoothly without chemical interference or complications.
- Reduces cholesterol (the greater your concern about heart health / cardiovascular fitness, the more important [soluble] fiber is). Soluble fiber absorbs liquid / water and gets absorbed into the blood stream, picks up toxins and cholesterol, then gets re-absorbed by the large intestine and carries it out of the body. Insoluble fiber does not absorb water, does not leave the intestine, it stays hard like small stones and cleans the inside of the large intestine, cleaning as it gets pushed through from the natural muscular movements of the intestine.
As the large intestine gets cleaner, every system of the body gets cleaner…a little more each day...a little more
energy each day. If the large intestine is not as clean as it should be,
neither will any other system of the body be as clean as it should be.
Think
about it…the quality and appearance of the skin, hair and nails shows only
about 10% of what is going on inside the body…the toxins literally get
backed-up, into how we look…how old or youthful we look and feel.
When the nervous system is clean the
net result is greater mental clarity, stable and consistent energy, lack of
anxiety and depressed thinking and rationing ability.
When the cardiovascular system is
clean the heart and lungs can deliver oxygenated blood and return the blood to
get re-oxygenated unimpeded.
Although too complicated for this
article, when the hormone / endocrine
system is not clean, it behaves as if
the wires are crossed, fluctuations in hormonal levels causing all kinds of
problems…too much / too little estrogen & testosterone just to name a
couple common hormones.
The immune system (infections,
viruses, allergic responses, lupus), will neither be over-active or
under-active as a result of having clean cells which are able to detoxify
themselves as a result of eating enough fiber…a stronger, more properly
responsive immune system, as I call it.
The respiratory system (allergies,
asthma, breathing, etc.), will show improvement when the body gets the chance
to detoxify itself via the large intestine. When the body is allowed to become
toxic from too little fiber, the body is “primed” for allergies, inflammation
and sensitivities which may or may not be diagnosable, reduced or eliminated.
The bone / skeletal system of the body (joint
problems, arthritis, degeneration, etc.), will benefit as the level of toxins
will be decreased, thereby lowering the irritation to the cells, thereby
lowering the inflammatory response throughout the entire body….hmmm, the whole body?...what about…
Fiber
can seem like such a boring, un-important topic and it did seem that way for me
until I understood why and how it is important for getting lean, gaining muscle
and building health from the inside out…improving
a little bit each day.
Without
enough fiber, food and beverage that get eaten get absorbed into the body too
quickly; the blood sugar increases too fast, decreases too fast and those
spikes and drops in energy are where body fat is stored and lean mass in turn
is burned for energy, thereby making the metabolism slow down…not good, eh?
When
I was growing up, fiber was something I thought old people ate to make
themselves go to the bathroom…you know, prune juice and Metamucil. Little did I
know that many of the health problems I had as well as trouble gaining muscle
is partly related to the amount of fiber in the daily diet…or lack there of.
Like the other B.N.B.B.s, the effects and benefits of eating enough fiber are
cumulative, so be consistent. Eat enough on a daily basis and your fat-loss /
muscle gaining will improve and the top ten killer dis-eases of our time will be less concern for you and your family. I suggest using fiber in conjunction
with Pro-biotics and the herbal de-toxifier formulas.
For
more information, check out my website. You can increase the amount of fiber
rich foods and / or take supplemental fiber.
