What’s the big deal… about the
Basic Nutritional Building Blocks?
(B.N.B.B.s)


The quickie answer: You have to eat certain kinds of fat to be your healthiest and achieve optimal performance…and yes you have to eat fat to burn fat…certain kinds of fats at certain times (the good fats).


The complete answer: Start out by adding one gram (1,000 milligrams) to your diet daily. I suggest a dietary supplement capsule. Work up to adding 10 grams (10,000 milligrams per day over the course of the next year). In other words, over the course of a year, increase by one capsule each day, each month over the course of a year.




The cells are made of the B.N.B.B.s. That is what the cells of the body are made of!


In India’s ayurvedic  system of health the physical body is referred to as:


Ana maya kosha: The body that comes out of food.


If you do not eat enough of the B.N.B.B.s the body begins to de-grade and break-down and wear out in various ways traditionally referred to as the “normal aging process,” (loss of bone, lean tissue and gain of body fat as well as various de-generative conditions). The B.N.B.B.s are required by the cells of the body. Often the most noticeable symptom is a lack of energy and / or weight gain.


When I refer to the B.N.B.B.s. I am talking about:


  • GMO-free Energizing Soy Protein
  • Multi-vitamin
  • B-Complex
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin E
  • Good Fats and
  • Pro-biotics
Every cell of the body requires the B.N.B.B.s to maintain, repair and rejuvenate themselves. There are no exceptions. One cannot know if they have enough of them until they do have enough and things that seemed normally simply go away.

Often people in hearing one of my talks or reading one of my books will ask, “Yeh, but what about my…?”

What’s the answer?

The B.N.B.B.s!

Yes, some of the cells and systems require other things in addition, but you want to make sure the basics are in place instead of skipping the basics and substituting other things.
  
Just like breathing air.
  
Just like drinking water.
  
Just like eating food.

Just like brushing your teeth. 

Just like sleeping…the body has to have them.

   Every cell requires them.



One might wonder… “I have such and such,” or “I was diagnosed with this or that…what should I take?”


Begin with the B.N.B.B.s. After the first month of doing this consistently, personalize your program, but don’t skip the B.N.B.B.s. I guarantee you'll feel better in some way.


Build upon the B.N.B.B.s.; Every cell requires them.



Yes of course there are other modalities that help the body like massage, chiropractic and the like, but here’s the point: All of those things are manipulating the cells of the body…and what are the cells made of?....you got it, the B.N.BB.s.


So to fully benefit so that the effects of the massage last, the chiropractic adjustment holds, the pain to be relieved, etc., the cells have to have the B.N.B.B.s. Often, the symptoms one is having in seeking alternative help is a deficiency of the B.N.B.B.s showing up as signs, symptoms and syndromes early in the de-generative dis-ease process.


But most people haven’t learned to recognize it as such until they get them in their cells for a couple months and then think back to problems that simply seemed to go away without thought of.


When the cells of the body have enough B.N.B.B.s the end result is full functioning of the body, which leads to optimal health, ability to exercise, building of muscle and burning of unnecessary body fat. When the cells do not have enough, progress slows and may even halt, the body adding fat even if you are working out on a regular basis…also known as a plateau.


Make no mistake: And this is a critical point: when I refer to the B.N.B.B.s, like anyone who has spent any time around me knows, I talk about them all the time, I’m specifically referring to concentrated food in tablet form…not vitamins you find in any grocery, warehouse or drug store...many supplements on the market simply aren't high enough quality to help.

Time and time again (too many to count), clients either come back to me after getting this information and say one of two things:


1)      “I can’t believe how much better I feel.” 

or

2)     “I did what you said and it didn’t work.”


Now you know from my classes about the “thinking vs doing,” effect, it's when somebody takes information from an expert, change it in some way rather than simply following through on the information they requested!


Between you and me, I have never found the principles I describe here to not work.


Simply put, it works!...but only if you do it the way I suggest. If I suggest taking concentrated food supplements and someone goes out and gets synthetic supplements (which are made from coal tar), they always come back and say it didn’t work…duh! That’s why I said concentrated food supplements.


[Coal tar being the sludge left over in the refinement of raw petroleum on its way to becoming gasoline. It has been banned in many skin care products. The picture below shows how they treat electrical power poles with it to prevent the wood from rotting (one of the worst environmental disasters ever because it leaks out into the ground in summer heat) yet is still allowed to be turned into “vitamins”].



Below is a couple pictures of what coal tar is commonly used for. The same material is what synthetic vitamin supplements are made out of. No Joke.




In another example, I found this story on KING5 News in Seattle (February 20, 2014) about how the same coal tar creosote used to prevent wood rot in railroad ties kills salmon. So, there was a lot of talk about how the railroads weren't being careful enough and keeping the railroad ties far enough from the salmon steams.








 In another example, a story on Vashon Island, Washington published in the Vashon-Maury Island Beachcomber newspaper (Novemeber 26, 2014) showed that the wooden pilings used to hold up the docks is also treated with the coal tar preservative which has found to be toxic to aquatic life, so despite massive expense they are being removed from Puget Sound.








In other words (to be clear and specific) the raw materials used to produce synthetic dietary supplements are made out of materials considered poison in other contexts. 



So, the people who have not been satisfied with the results they have gotten from name brand supplements, usually get better results from Shaklee whole food concentrates. The people who take these suggestion and act on them, always come back with anecdotal stories about how much of a difference they made...as well as the results of their blood chemistry work having improved. And here’s the real clincher: Often their body composition has improved (fat decreased and lean mass increased). That is the part they weren’t even aware of. In fact, I have been tracking the differences between people who apply the nutrition principles and the ones who exercise without nutrition improvements…there is a difference.



To people who think the kind of supplements you take don’t make a difference, it’s a “medical-mystery.” I mean think about it. If someone doesn’t believe variations in quality will make a difference and they don’t give them a try then they sort of sit back telling themselves they did and it didn’t work without ever knowing from first hand experience. They pay me the big bucks to give them the information to get where they want to go and then don’t follow through…perplexing, I know (every professional health care provider experiences this). The person who really wants results can’t cut corners on quality.



People often want to build lean mass and burn fat, while unknowingly starving themselves of nutrition, thinking that eating less will help rid the body of fat which we now know is wackbards.


Catch #1: The more deficient a person is of the B.N.B.B.s, the longer it takes for them to recognize the importance of them and actually get them and take them everyday. They might say something like, “Oh, I don’t need that, or “I’m too smart for that, or “How could he possibly know what I need…he’s not a doctor or a chemist or anything”...but they say the same thing about their doctors!


And you can do an experiment yourself: Simply bring up the topic of nutrition with your friends. Nothing too specific, no advice no suggestions…just breach the topic of nutrition…then just sit back and watch and listen without saying anything…people who are under-nourished will begin to squirm, disagree and argue…with you before you even say anything of any importance.



 
Whereas the people who have experienced the power of nutrition will begin asking you questions and telling you positive experiences they have had…it's that simple to know who’s brain is fueled and on-line. Not scientific, but again, just something I’ve noticed again and again over the last 30 years or so of doing this stuff.



And its kinda’ fun, just to see what happens!



In other words, the under-nourished brain cannot recognize love, compassion nor accurate information when it is so deficient of the B.N.B.B.s that its main concern is to get the energy up to keep the heart and brain running on fumes. Literally, the brain kicks over from learning, cognitive and sharing mode to what I call “search-and-consume-mode,” where it goes from a “quality,” focus to a “get-energy-fast-mode."


The body prioritizes where food and nutrition / energy gets used to keep this machine we call the body running as smoothly as possible. So, the brain gets first pick. Next the heart gets what is left over and so on. When the upper brain is nourished adequately (when there are enough B.N.B.B.s circulating in the body) with the B.N.B.B.s, the person simply picks up and consumes the foods which are good for the body and foods which are not as good simply get over-looked (the well nourished brain simply blocks them out of awareness)…they become a distant memory.
  
Where as the person who does not have enough B.N.B.B.s is being guided by what I refer to as the primal-brain (fast-energy food and beverage seem attractive and seductive), in that the person who does not have enough B.N.B.B.s will be attracted to sweets and fats as the body is telling them they are deficient to the point that the brain is primarily concerned with keeping its energy up so it can keep the other system running properly, without the ability to take the longer-term consequences into account…e.g. keep the machine running long enough and at some point the machine may come across some real nutrition (B.N.B.B.s).


Catch #2: Just because you have not heard of this or used them does not mean your cells do not require them…the cells require them…period!


Catch #3: To the person who is deficient of the B.N.B.B.s, eating sweets and fats and being attracted to warm caffeinated drinks seems like an emotional issue…when in reality, deficiency comes first, followed by chemical imbalance, followed by emotional attachment; the emotions come into play stronger / more intensely when the body is deficient of the B.N.B.B.s…(symptom of the lower-brain doing whatever it can to make up for deficiency of the B.N.B.B.s). You see, the emotions are a great motivating factor to take action and the brain will make use of them to attempt to get the B.N.B.B.s into your cells.


For the undernourished brain, the emotional aspect of the brain takes over. Hence, "comfort food", "emotional eating"...the person is literally telling themselves that the upper part of the brain has forfeited control to the emotional part of the brain out of "energy necessity".


In nature, brightly-colored foods have higher levels of nutrients in them. But in this fast-paced, over-processed world products which do not have any nutrition, yet are packaged like nutritiously colored foods can confuse the different parts of the mind leading to cravings for things which are not in alignment with your short and long-term goals whether they be to gain muscle, build fat or build long-term health.


Catch #4: Will-power is a function of the upper brain which has enough B.N.B.B.s. Without them, the person feels like they have no will-power to resist the sweets and fats and once they take a bite they cannot stop…remember the Lays potato chips commercial, “You can’t eat just one”?


And why would we, if the organ which makes it possible for us to inhabit the body says, “Get the blood sugar up fast,” who are we to fight it, the brain runs the show…does it not?  So there isn’t anything fundamentally wrong with the person who craves sweets and fats, it just means the brain is prioritizing (fast energy, simple sugars, junk food / SADCRAP) and until the B.N.B.B.s are introduced everyday, thereby the brain having the hands pick healthier foods the cravings will not permanently disappear. BUT, once you have the B.N.B.B.s in your body everyday, the relative importance of your favorite S.A.D.C.R.A.P. simply goes away…and then you get it…and you recognize it in those around you as well.


Catch #5: We can always over-ride the body’s attempt to get the B.N.B.B.s. We can tell ourselves “We don’t need them,” or that “We don’t like them,” or that “They are a waste of energy,” or “We would prefer to get nutrition from food alone,” or that “We don’t like to take pills,”…or any other number of reasons…but that does not change the fact that the cells require themeven if we try to convince ourselves that we are too good to succumb to the natural laws of health and wellness.
 

In my extensive experience as a personal trainer and licensed health care provider as well as a life long student of health, longevity and healing I have found that about 80% of the results one gets (or does not get), in their health and fitness goals is related to getting enough nutrition into the cells. And I know of only one way to get enough nutrition everyday…and as you know, I used to be a sugar-freak.


In my experiences, good, clean food is essential for reducing toxins and the B.N.B.B.s provide what food cannot. I have not found an exception yet. People who try to ignore the need for the B.N.B.B.s by the cells and simultaneously try to “will-power” themselves through the cravings are agreeing to ignore nature’s communication that (at the cellular level, the cells are starving for real nutrition)…[eating food and nutrition are two different things].


Eat enough of the B.N.B.B.s to create a nutritional-savings account and you’ll have more energy to do things other than denying yourself what you are convinced you want, but tell yourself you should not have…I promise.
