You Have As Much Right To Fail As Succeed!

One of the mind-tricks people play on themselves in regard to maintaining healthy body composition and fitness is that they tell themselves that, "No one can make me...". In reality its true and any healthy trainer or medical provider isn't interested in "making" anyone do anything, even when its in the client / patient's own best interest.

In regard to healthy weight (both directions of it), more often than not the psychological and emotional factors are the main factors that are interfering in progress.

What that means, as if I haven't said it enough, is that the science and the "doing" of exercise and nutrition is already well known and proven to work...where it breaks down (for most everyone) is when the client has unresolved psychological and emotional issues that are running in the background, which literally stop the weight loss / gain process. (As long as there is an unresolved emotional issue, the physical aspects of weigh loss halt.)

Specifically, the need to gain attention is one of the most common attributes involved. Whether a person is insisting they can't lose weight or can't gain weight, ultimately it comes down to gaining attention in unnatural ways...e.g. the more a person insists they can't lose weight the more attention they get from people wanting to help them. There's a few dis-ease processes that work this way. Left to its own, these aspects become neurosis-based habits which the person has so perfected the neurosis takes on a life of its own and the person can honestly insist they don't know what they're doing...all habits become unconscious at a certain point.

So just because you set the fat, unhealthy lifestyle up out of a coping mechanism, insisted you didn't know and then perfected the process to the point you aren't even aware of it anymore doesn't mean you're not responsible, capable and the one who has to do the exercise and nutrition while simultaneously work your way back through, so you can experience the same stressors but make better, more healthy, generative decisions and establish equally healthy habits in the current time now.

You can insist, whether consciously or unconsciously, that no one can make you...and you're right...but in order to get the results you say you want you have to let that concept go and allow people to help you. You might even, in the process, figure out why you wanted to make yourself unhealthy and then insist no one can make you healthy! Control!
